The Tennessee Military Department consists of the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, Tennessee Army National Guard, Tennessee Air National Guard, and Tennessee State Guard.
Welcome to the second Merit Badge University hosted by the Tennessee Military Department. We are extremely excited to offer all Scouts an opportunity to meet with subject matter experts and pursue a program that may serve as a hobby or future career builder.
Our instructors are from the Army and Air National Guard as well as leaders from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA)! Our intention is to provide a full day of exceptional education and inspiration!
The cost is $20 per Scout and $15 per adult (plus EventBrite fees). Please note: Earning a Merit Badge is not guaranteed. Each Scout will be expected to work on the associated badge requirements. Some steps may need to be performed before or after the event, such as the 12-week fitness program as part of the Personal Fitness Merit Badge. Unit leaders must ensure their Scouts are working within their level of learning.
Payment can be made electronically through the EventBrite site or via check. Mail checks to: Merit Badge University, c/o LTC Clements (DOMS), 3041 Sidco Drive, Nashville, TN 37204.
The address 3041 Sidco Drive routes correctly using Google Maps and is easily reached from I-65 south of downtown Nashville. This is a controlled access facility. All adults must present a government issued ID like a drivers license and identify themselves as present for the MBU. Only the Sidco Drive gate will be active on the east side of the property. Upon entering the facility, follow the signs clockwise around the perimeter road for parking on the west side of the main building.
All individuals must have a complete BSA Medical Part A and B form at check-in. Parents should be aware that some classes will have offsite transport requirements to Nashville Airport and the State Capitol. Transportation will be provided.
