If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Sponsor Information
This event is hosted by the South Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).

We have an enthusiastic group of counselors with extensive professional and personal experience in each of the subject areas that make them uniquely qualified to present the classes in a fun and engaging format.

You can find the complete leader's guide
here.

MBU will be moved to Camp Patten, our camp in Lakeland, GA, because of the recent storms that brought tornadoes through Camp Osborn. I have updated the address & map for the new venue. Please see below & if you have any questions please contact me.

Description
MBU is an educational and advancement opportunity open to any active, registered Boy Scout, Explorer, or Venture Scout. This event is hosted by the South Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America (BSA).

FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE:

Scouts are admitted to classes on a first come, first serve basis via the online registration system. There is no waiting list for any of the merit badge classes. Should you encounter booked classes, please monitor this website in case seats become available. We reserve the right to limit registration for any class and the Merit Badge Counselor will determine the minimum age for students to enroll in the course in an effort to ensure that the requirements can be completed in the scheduled amount of time by all scouts. We also reserve the right to cancel a course or activities as needed. All registrations will be taken on a first registered and paid, first served basis.

RIGHT TO LIMIT OR CANCEL:

The Merit Badge Clinic will reserve the right to limit or cancel any class. Merit Badges to be offered are subject to change based on MB Counselor availability and class minimums.

Counselor Information
Please mark all attendees that appear on your roster yourself. If you have any walk-ins, please have them write their names legibly on the roster.

Once you complete a requirement please mark that requirement as complete with a "C". After the class is over please turn it in to the Admin building.
Unit Sign-up Instructions
Add each of your youth along with their age and rank. Choose the merit badges that they have requested. If the class is full please choose their second choice.

To register Scouts for the MB event you should pick a single registrar to sign up all the members of your troop/team.  That person needs to be registered with the BSA (have your BSA ID # handy) and be current with youth protection training (you’ll need the date of your training).  Anyone with the above credentials can register a boy, but it's just a good idea to have one or two doing it for the whole troop.

Many classes have pre-requisites which must be done if you wish to complete the badge during class. Some classes also have age requirements. Unless indicated otherwise, all other requirements for the Merit Badge should be covered in class. It is recommended that scouts bring and read the Merit Badge pamphlet for their class. Also, Scouts are required to BRING a SIGNED Blue Card from the Scoutmaster.
