Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.  

How will we do this? 

What should you do? 
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

This event is hosted by ODU ACS Chemistry Club.



DO NOT contact ODU in regards to registering for this merit badge as they will not be able to assist with registration. Due to safety reasons, class is limited to 60 scouts and no walk-ups will be allowed.



As part of their fundraising, the ODU ACS Chemistry Club is also selling lab goggles ($10) and lab coats ($20). So if you have a mad scientist in the house and would like to get them a gift so they can fit in with other mad scientiist, or even stand apart from the crowd with these cool items, please let me know and I will send you an email with a picture of these items.
Description
There are no prerequisites for this event and all requirements will be completed.



REGISTRATION:

Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Open enrollment will begin on January 21st  and will end on March  20th, or when there are 60 scouts registered.



UNIFORM: The Class "B" uniform is the uniform for the day. NO SHORTS OR OPEN TOED SHOES WILL BE ALLOWED.



CODE OF CONDUCT: The Scout Oath, the Law, and the Outdoor Code shall be the code of the Merit Badge Day. A Scout whose conduct is not consistent with the code will be directed to leave immediately.



CLEAN UP: The Scout is clean. Future offerings of the Merit Badge Day will largely depend on how neat we leave the place.

BLUE CARDS / Merit Badge Books.......

All Scouts must bring to class a Blue Card SIGNED by their Scoutmaster. The Chemistry Merit Badge booklet can be found here:

The Blue Card will be updated with tasks completed in class and returned to Scout at the end of the merit badge class. It is the responsibility of the Scout to request and obtain his Blue Card before leaving.
Unit Sign-up Instructions
New to MeritBadge.info?

1. You have to register with the website and create a username and password, and add troop information.

2. Then you have to log in with that username and password.

3. Locate the event, and click on the "sign up" button to the right.

4. This takes you to the event page.

5. From there you will need to add an attending adult for the event, scroll down to do this.

6. You will see Add an adult, click there.

7. On the Adult page, click Un\Register next to your name.

8. Scroll up and click on back to registration page button.

9. Then, add your scout information, and click add.

10. Once registered, you will need to send in your payment for the event.



YOU WILL NEED TO INCLUDE YOUR SCOUTS TROOP NUMBER. IF YOU FAIL TO INCLUDE THE TROOP NUMBER WHEN YOU REGISTER, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REGISTER SO PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.



CHECK IN:

All blue cards will be turned in when the scout checks in.



CHECK OUT:

Blue cards will be given out upon completion of the merit badge class. Blue cards not issued out will not be mailed. Scouts are responsible for the collection of their blue cards upon completion of the class.
Payment Instructions for the Unit
There is a $5.00 fee for this merit badge class. Payment due upon registration.Failure to pay by close of registration, or when class is full, will result in scout being dropped from the event!

Directions to the Event
A map will be emailed to all registered parents and leaders. Please ensure your contact information is correct.



PARKING:

There are several parking garages on campus. I will email further directions the week of the event to a map of the closest parking garage. There are no parking fees on the weekend.
