Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.  

How will we do this? 

What should you do? 
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Description
This event was created by utilizing the tools outlined in the First Aid Discovery (FAD) National Platform for Community Service. Scout Leaders and healthcare organizations are encouraged to replicate this event to teach the Boy Scout First Aid Merit Badge and the Girl Scouts Patch by using FAD's guidelines


 

Scouts will be provided with enhanced simulation lab experience to be fully prepared in first aid situations. The Wellstar School of Nursing Student Nurse's Association and the Georgia Association of Nursing students will be instructing the scouts through interactive activities. This program will be supervised by Kennesaw State University Faculty and sponsored by Friends of 1776, Inc. 



We may email class information prior to the merit badge event. In the spirit of BSA Youth Protection guidelines, please provide an email address for the Scouts parents rather than the individual Scout. The Scoutmaster should not use his email address to register all boys in his troop.

All Scouts must bring to class the following:

The Blue Cards will be updated with tasks completed in class and returned to the Scouts BEFORE they depart the classroom. It is the responsibility of the Scouts to request and obtain his Blue Card. 




PREREQUISITES:

The Merit Badge Counselor will give credit for completed requirements ONLY. The Scout should complete all other requirements not covered in class, at his own pace and with his own troop counselors. Class work will be followed by individual Scout’s projects and his ability to fulfill all requirements.

Unit Sign-up Instructions

First aid classes have pre-requisites which must be done if you wish to complete the badge during class. First aid classes also has age and/or rank requirements. Unless indicated otherwise, all other requirements for the Merit Badge should be covered in class. For ALL classes, Scouts are required to READ and BRING the Merit Badge pamphlet. Also, Scouts are required to BRING a SIGNED Blue Card from the Scoutmaster.



REGISTRATION IS BY TROOP 



Registration form and all fees must be returned by the indicated date below. Otherwise, we will drop your online registration and will allow other Scouts to register in your place.

 


 

CHECK IN AT THE PRILLAMAN HALL:


 

The UNIT LEADER CHECKS-IN the troop at the 2nd Floor Lobby the Prillaman Hall. Also, all Merit Badge Counselors NEED to check-in during this time.


 



CHECK OUT:

Any Scout not signed out at Prillaman by the Troop On-site Contact and Event Manager at the conclusion of the merit badge event will not receive credit for the completion of any merit badge or merit badge requirements.



EVENT SCHEDULE:


 

7:30-8:15AM   Set up

8:15-8:30AM   *Check-in by troop at the Prillaman Hall Health & Human Sciences Building

8:30-9:25AM   Assembly and Introduction.

9:25 AM         Start Merit Badge Classes.

12:20 PM        Return Blue Cards to Scouts before departing from the classroom!

12:30 PM        End of all Merit Badge Classes.



*Please have blue cards and first aid kits ready to turn in during check-in.



EVERYBODY helps with clean up. Counselors return class rosters and advancement records to the Check Out Desk. 
Troop Leaders MUST checkout troops at the registration desk.



 



Announcements & Dismissal to Class: 

Counselor escorts his/her class to the designated classroom. They also make sure Scouts will not wander outside their classrooms. ALL Adult Leaders and Scoutmasters will assist our counselors and will help with noise and crowd control at all times.


Payment Instructions for the Unit
PAYMENT METHOD

The participation fee is per Scout.  Additional fees for materials are identified for designated classes. Troops are obligated to pay for the total number of Scouts registered. Send payment within 10 days of registration or forfeit all class selections.



1.) BY CREDIT CARD: - THIS IS OUR PREFERRED PAYMENT METHOD. We use PayPal, (a commercial banking and credit card processing service) using MasterCard, Discover Card, Amex or VISA. There is no charge to you for this service to make payments. You may pay by simply clicking at the "Click Here for Online Payment" link provided during the "Unit Sign-Up." Payment information is sent via encrypted link to the Secure Paypal center.  None of your credit information is saved by MeritBadge.Info or Friends of 1776Also, please print your registration information at “Show & Print Roster” for your records.





2.) BY CHECK Please print two copies of your registration form. Send one copy with complete payment. Retain the other registration copy for your records.

WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT ONLINE REGISTRATIONS. DO NOT SEND MONEY UNLESS YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED ONLINE. IF YOUR REGISTERED SCOUT IS NOT ATTENDING, REMOVE HIM FROM THE REGISTRATION. OTHER SCOUTS CAN BENEFIT.



DO NOT ASK MERIT BADGE COUNSELORS TO ACCEPT SCOUTS INTO SPECIFIC MERIT BADGE CLASSES; EVERYBODY NEEDS TO USE THE ONLINE REGISTRATRATION SYSTEM. CLASSROOM CAPACITY IS ALWAYS A CONCERN AND THE MB COUNSELOR CAN NOT HELP YOU.





REFUNDS: 



The registration fee is non-refundable. The amount paid will be forfeited if the troop or Scout does not attend. However, troops may substitute scouts as long as the total number and the Merit Badge doesn’t change.

Kennesaw State University is located in Cobb County, Georgia, 20 minutes north of Atlanta on I-75, one exit north of Town Center Mall. Take the Chastain Road Exit number 271 and turn west across the interstate. Go approximately two traffic lights and turn right on to Frey Road before reaching the campus main entrance. Continue straight for about one mile. Turn left at the third traffic light onto Campus Loop Road. After making this left make first left onto Owl Drive to find Green Central Parking Lots D or J. Lots D and J will be free and open on Saturday, October 18. Be mindful to arrive early because parking at these lots is on first come first serve basis. Prillaman Hall (Health and Human Sciences Building) is right across from Lots D and J and is noted as building 41 on the Campus Map.
