Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.  

How will we do this? 

What should you do? 
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Hosted at a the reserved large conference room at Mountain View LIbrary. Room is reserved by Troop 714 under my name, Nathan Davenport, and holds a large enough space to fit as many people as would like to attend. I am a recent eagle scout, and will be helping present this presentation with the help of Mr. Fred Hunt, who is our troop's Programming Merit Badge counsulor. 
Description

HEY SCOUTS --



Are you interested in computers?

Video games? Technology?

Do you want to learn how computers work?

Join the ranks of young programmers and discover how exciting writing code can be!



Scouts will learn about the history of programming, current programming technologies, and will be introduced to the basics of Python (and possibly some web design if theres time).



Lunch will be provided for free (pizza), please plan on bringing your own laptop and charger with you. For adults, there will also be a Kurieg coffee machine avaliable. Thank you for interest and I hope to see you there!



 
Counselor Information

Students will earn the majority of requirements for the Programming Merit Badge. This includes requirements 1, 2, 3, 4, 5a, and 6. Depending on time given, students may not earn all project requirements, however it will not take very long after the clinic to finish these projects. (5b, 5c, and 5d).

Once entering Mountain View Library, event will be on the left before entering the second set of doors. The clinic will be in the large conference room.
