If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Due to the size of this event it will be an Invitational Camporee. If your Troop is interested in attending please use the link above to subscribe to our mailing list. If you have any other questions after reading everything below please email mbcamporee@troop90.us

More information about the Event.

Each troop is required to provide counselors for at least 2 badges however we ask that you volunteer for more especially if you have a large troop and so that we can offer a variety of merit badges.  If everyone volunteers to teach the same badges we will not have enough variety.  Please complete the attached form for each badge your troop is willing to lead for the weekend so we can plan a schedule accordingly.

The success of this event depends on the willingness of each troop's leadership to share their talents with the other troops attending.  Troops will be selected to attend based on their willingness to lead Merit Badge sessions compared to the number of boys they plan to bring. Last year we hosted 285 scouts so make sure you apply on time so you don’t miss out on this great event.

Merit Badges Offered in previous years.

American Heritage, Art, Astronomy, Automotive Maintenance, Aviation, Basketry, Bird Study, Camping, Chess, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in World, Communications, Computers, Cooking, Crime Prevention, Dentistry, Disability Awareness, Dog Care, Drafting, Electricity, Electronics, Energy, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Fingerprinting, Fire Safety, Fishing, Fly Fishing, Fish and Wildlife Management, Forestry, Genealogy, Geocaching, Geology, Graphic Arts, Indian Lore, Inventing, Law, Leatherwork, Mammal Study, Music, Orienteering, Photography, Pioneering, Plumbing, Public Speaking, Radio, Safety, Salesmanship, Scholarship, Space Exploration, Stamp Collecting, Swimming, Theater, Traffic Safety, Truck Transportation, Veterinary Medicine, Welding, Wilderness Survival, Woodcarving, and Woodworking.

Note: These are the Merit Badges that MAY be offered this year.

Available Counselors and Scouts interested in the badges will determine the final list.

If there is a badge not listed that can be taught in a one or two session time frame please feel free to add it to this list and have the counselor register on this website. Also if there are any requirements that can not be completed within the allocated time period please list these as Prerequisites. This will ensure that the boys can leave with completed blue cards. We offer four 3-4 hour merit badge sessions one each Friday Night, Saturday Morning, Afternoon, and Evening.

There are a few things to keep in mind when planning for this event.

Each troop needs at least 2 deep leadership for the entire weekend.

The success of this event is dependent on the availability of Merit Badge Counselors from each troop that attends.  This allows for the most variety in badge selection.  Ideally if each troop volunteers to teach at least 2 or more merit badges over the course of the weekend the boys will have a wide variety of Merit Badges from which to choose. If you are not sure what needs to be done, feel free to ask, we can give you advice on what has worked well in the past.

If your troop is interested in participating, please discuss this with the adults and youth within your troop to see who is willing to lead a merit badge session and to make sure you will have the 2 deep leadership required. Keep in mind there is no limit to the number of adults you send. Merit Badge Counselors and an assistant are free for the weekend!  This is an all volunteer effort, many hands make light work. We hope you are able to attend.

Please send Contact Information (by the January Roundtable) including names of merit badge counselors and the badge(s) they are willing to teach to:

Description

Timeline of events leading up to the Merit Badge Camporee

May - Set date for Camporee

October/November – Email Troops to apply for an invitation to Merit Badge Camporee

January Roundtable – Let us know if your troop will attend and what Merit Badge(s) you will teach.  Please offer several suggestions if possible since we want to offer a variety of badges and will have to coordinate with all troops attending.

Late January (date TBD) – Will hold first planning meeting with interested troops to build schedule to be offered the scouts for badge selection.

February Roundtable – Will provide schedule of merit badges for Scouts to select, including list of pre-requisites.  Please set reasonable expectations, it may not be possible to complete every merit badge in the time allocated.  Some work may need to be completed before or after the Camporee.

April Roundtable – Troop rosters are due with Merit Badge selections. Payment is also due at this time. All adults attending should be listed as well.

End of April –  We need at least 2 scouts in each class. All class rosters will be finalized and all Merit badge counselors will be notified of class size so they can prepare materials.

Early May - Final meeting for all troops attending and to finalize meal planning (note volunteers will be needed to help prepare and serve meals).
