Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.
We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.
Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info. Let others in your unit know they should do the same. We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Brighton Troop 260 is hosting a Merit Badge Workshop the weekend of March 28, 2015 through Sunday March 29,
2015 open to all Boy Scouts.
- Boy Scouts must be registered through their Troop and each Troop must provide at least 2 Deep Adult Leadership as prescribed by BSA guidelines.
- The fee for this event is $20 per Scout and Leader. Leaders register at the Adult volunteers window. Parents who wish to eat lunch will be charged $5.00 and need to register at the FOOD Window.
- All counselors and volunteers eat free.

Campsite Guidelines
- No fee for camping.
- No open fires are allowed in the campsites. Above ground fires only.
- Each Troop must provide adult supervision as per the BSA guidelines set forth in the Youth Protection Guidelines.
- Each Troop will leave their campsites as they are found, following the BSA Leave No Trace Behind Guidelines.
Dress Code
Scouts and Leaders are asked to wear your Scout uniform to this event. An appropriate Scout T-shirt may be worn under the Scout shirt, and the Scout shirt removed during merit badge classes if the instructor permits.
Parking
Park your vehicles in the parking lot of A.R.P. Church which is located at 81 Church Street, Brighton, Tn 38011. This will also be the loading and drop off point for Scouts taking field trips as part ot their merit badge requirements. Baseball will be going on that weekend and the parking lot will be busy. We intend for the church parking lot to be roped off and used exclusively by our merit badge participants.
Inclement Weather
The rain date for the Brighton merit Badge Workshop is April 11, 2015. The adult listed on the registration form will be contacted should the workshop be postpone.
Transportation to/from Merit Badge Class sites
If you can help transport Scouts to and from off site merit badge classes, please see T-260 Scoutmaster Bill Cooper, upon your arrival at the workshop. He will gladly schedule you to help. Off-site classes include: Animal Science, Aviation, Golf, Railroading, and Skating.
Lunch Menu
Your choice of Hamburger or Hot dog, chips, drink, and dessert. NOTE: Lunch is included in the registartion fee for scouts and leaders.

Will be available through out the day. Some of the items listed below.

Description |
Dutch Oven Cooking Class
- Open for registerd Adults and First Class and above Scouts.
- There are no walk-ons for this class.
- The menu prepared by the participants during class will also serve as their lunch.

Robotics
Lap top is required to enhance your robotic experience but not mandatory. Scout will be able to download a program to their lap top to keep and put the program they create into the brain of the bot.

Golf - Requires own Golf Clubs - additional green fee $18.00 (playing 18 holes).

Robotics - (Need lap top to enhance your robotics experience but not manditory, will load program and transfer to the brain of the bot.)

Please encourage your scouts to Read the Merit Badge Book before the workshop.
Completion of Merit Badges will be at the discretion of the counselor.

Unit Sign-up Instructions |
1) Go to www.meritbadge.info
2) Enter the "Merit Badge Registration System"
3) "Register New User" on the upper right of the screen. Follow all prompts carefully. Do not rush, read the screens and make sure you select all options (Unit Leader, Merit Badge Couselor, Event Manager) at the bottom of the registration page.
4) "Sign On" (upper right screen)
5) Select the "Unit Sign Up" tab.
6) Select the Merit Badge Event to register Scouts.
7) Follow the screen and add Scouts to the registration.
The cost of the event is $20. This includes Saturday's lunch, event patch and the opportunity for Scouts to attend 2 merit badge sessions.

Payment Instructions for the Unit |
Registration must be done on line by a Troop Leader. Go to www.meritbadge.info for registration. If not already registered at this site, Scout Leaders will need to register as a new user then sign on berfore they are able to register Scouts for the event.
Once you have completed the registration for Scouts and Leaders attending the event, print 2 copies of the registration, keep a copy for your records and send one copy with a check made out to "Brighton Boy Scouts Troop 260" for the proper amount.
