Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.  

How will we do this? 

What should you do? 
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Western Tech Merit Badge College

This inaugural event will take place on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 at Western Technical College - Plaza Campus - 9624 Plaza Circle, El Paso, TX  79927. In partnership with the Yucca Council, Boy Scouts of America, we will be offering the opportunity for Scouts from throughout West Texas and Southern New Mexico to earn Merit Badges in collaboration with Merit Badge Counselors (all Western Tech Staff) using state of the art facilities.

Description


The inaugural Western Tech Merit Badge College will offer an opportunity for Scouts to learn many life skills at one of the Region's best technical school campuses using state of the art facilities. Scouts are offered a diverse set of Merit Badges that will be either partially earned or completed on the day of the event. Scouts will be able to enroll in up to two separate Merit Badge classes of their choice. Registration(s) will only be taken online and be considered completed at time of payment. Every effort will be made to award Scouts their requested classes in the order requested, but Merit Badges will be offered on a first-come first-served basis (please note that this event is open to Boy Scout youth only). 

BSA training will be available for all adult leaders in attendance. For more information, please contact the Yucca Council Service Center at 915-772-2292.

Merit Badge College Instructor Information

Thank you for volunteering to help out with the Western Technical College Merit Badge College for Yucca Council, Boy Scouts of America.  The time you spend on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016, will make a difference in the life of a young Scout from throughout our West Texas and Southern New Mexico Region.

Day’s Schedule

• 8:00 AM    The day will begin with Boy Scout Troops checking in

• 8:30 AM    Opening ceremonies will take place

• 9:00 AM – 11:45 PM    Morning classes will be held

• 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM  Lunch break

• 1:15 PM – 4:00 PM    Afternoon sessions

• 4:15 PM    Scouts and Scout Leaders may leave after afternoon session is complete - There will be no official closing



 
Unit Sign-up Instructions


Pre-registration is required.  Registration(s) will only be taken online at www.yuccabsa.org/program and will be considered completed at time payment is processed (to be completed at time of registration). A spot will be awarded to a Scout in their requested classes in the order the requests are recieved. Register early to increase the odds of getting into the classes that you want.  Some classes will fill very quickly.

Each Scout is responsible for printing and having a copy of the "Merit Badge Worksheet" the day of the event (available at www.yuccabsa/program). Copies will not be handed out by the Counselor.

No phone registrsations or add-ons will be accepted after January 15th, 2016. Registration at the event will be not be available (this rule will strictly enforced).

Confirmation of all classes can be printed by unit leader at the time of registration. If additional confirmation is needed, please make a request in writing to Jack Werner - jwerner@westerntech.edu - Online registrations will be final! No changes will be accepted once you submit, so take special care when completing online registration



 
Payment Instructions for the Unit


Cost of event:

Scouts      $20.00 -  Includes insurance, registration, up to two Merit Badge classes and a participation patch

Adults       $5.00 -  Includes insurance, registration and a participation patch

Lunch       $5.00 –  Must be purchased at time of Pre-registration

We are accepting only online registrations.  Registration will be considered complete at time of payment (payment must be made through PayPal at the time of registration).
