Sponsor Information
A team of Georgia Tech Eagle Scout alumni and students focused on educating youth about Sustainable Development are leading the Sustainability Merit Badge Seminar and Forum.  This event is sponsored by the following organizations:

  • Eagles@GeorgiaTech Student Organization

  • Georgia Tech Office of Campus Sustainability

  • Venturing Crew 605 - Chattahoochee Nature Center

The Sustainability Merit Badge Seminar and Forum is designed to teach the principles of Sustainable Development as they relate to the Sustainability merit badge requirements.  The seminar will facilitate a series of educational videos, engaging group discussions and activities, and a tour of Georgia Tech to see examples of sustainability principals and practices used on campus.

After attending the Seminar, participants will work at home with family members to complete the remaining merit badge requirements.

Upon completeing the homework requirements, Scouts will submit their homework to the Merit Badge Counselor for review and approval using an online form and worksheet.  When all of the merit badge requirements have been completed, the Scout and their unit leader will receive a signed electronic Blue Card via email.

Uniform:  The full BSA Class A uniform is the official uniform of the day.

Scout Email Address – Telephone Number:  The online registration system requests the email address and telephone number for Scouts participating in the event.  This is intended to facilitate the Merit Badge Counselor providing information regarding prerequisites and material that will be covered in class to the Scouts prior to the event.  In the spirit of B.S.A. Youth Protection guidelines, please provide an email address and/or telephone number for the Scout’s parents or adult leader rather than the individual Scout.
