Why I am qualified to teach
Archaeology
When I was five, my Father, who was in the Army, was stationed in France for three years.  He as able to take his family along, and while there, we often visited historical sites.  These could be Roman, Medievil, Renissance, or even newer.  I was exposed to a large number of museums (including the Louvre), and became interested in European History, and the Archeology of Great Britan (Stonehenge), France and Italy.   When we return to the States, I started my Scouting journey in El Paso, and started learning about Native American cultures.  Whenever we would change Bases, my parents took the family to historical sites as part of the trip.  I was able to visit Mound sites in Texas, Lousiana, Alabama and several historical Cherokee sites as well.   While in middle school I read a biography of Howard Carter, and became fascinated with his efforts.  A couple of years later, the "Treasures of Tutankhamun" came to Dallas, and my family and I traveled to see it.  I was also able to see the exhibit "Pompeii 79 A.D." at the Dallas museum of Art.   When my boys became Cub scouts we revisited the Mound cultures and participated in Archeology events at the Caddo Mounds site and visited the Ancient Mounds  in nearby Nacogdoches.  My oldest son and I vistied Poverty Point State Historic Site for one of his merit badges.
