Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.  

How will we do this? 

What should you do? 
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

We pride ourselves on boy leadership: senior leadership plans and executes all troop meetings, PLC meetings, planning conferences, and outing program. In our Troop, we uphold the highest principles of Scouting, aiming to instill in our boys the Scout Oath and Scout Law, so they can make wise ethical and moral decisions over their lifetime.

Troop 797 is offering a one day clinic at our charter church for the following badges and training:

  • Programming Merit Badge

  • Digital Technology Merit Badge

  • Cyber Chip Grades 6-8

  • Cyber Chip Grades 9-12

  • Den Chief Training


Class counselors will be announced shortly.

Unit Sign-up Instructions

  • When registering individual Scouts through the on-line registration system, please provide an email address for each Scout (or Parent if preferred). This will allow Merit Badge Counselors the ability to pass information pertaining to their classes prior to the Merit Badge Day.

  • To register if you do not have an account on meritbadge.info yet:

    1. Click on the “Register New User” link at the top of the page.

    2. Fill in the State, Council, District, Unit Type, and Unit Number for your Unit. If your unit number is not already listed, enter it in the space provided and click “Add”.

    3. Enter your personal information. If you are a unit leader or parent, jump to the bottom of the page and click “Add User”.



  • To sign up your scout(s) :

    1. Click “Sign On” at the top of the page; enter email address and password.

    2. If you are not taken to the Upcoming Events Page, click the Events tab at the top of the page.

    3. For a list of all the merit badges being offered, sessions available, prerequisites, and number of seats open click on Troop 797 Merit Badge and Training Clinic (you cannot sign up for the classes from this page)

    4. From the main “Events” page, click on the “Sign Up” link on the line for Troop 797 Merit Badge and Training Clinic (very right side of the page).

    5. Enter the information for each scout (name, age, guardian phone number, guardian email, and requested class. Click “Add” located right under the session block.



  • Troop 797 reserves the right to limit or cancel any class.

  • Scouts are admitted to classes on a first come, first served basis via the online registration system. There is no waiting list for any of the classes. Should you encounter booked classes, please monitor this website in case seats become available.

  • For Merit Badges, scouts are strongly encouraged to buy or borrow and read the Merit Badge booklet and complete all pre-requisites before attending.  Scouts should be prepared to discuss, report, demonstrate, and be tested on all requirements.

  • Uniform: BSA Class A

  • Food: Please bring a sack lunch

  • Parking: There is plenty of free parking on site.


Payment Instructions for the Unit
Fees must be paid at the time of registration by check. Fees are non-refundable unless a class is canceled for any reason.
