Description

This is event is for adults interested in some adult training and is run in conjunction with the youths merit badge midway.


Adult Leader Training - Interest in Online Training; a computer lab will be made available to take various BSA online training courses, i.e. Unit Commissioners Fast Start,Youth Protection Training, Weather Hazards, & Safety Afloat etc.  This lab will be open throuthout the program for anyone to walk-in at anytime to take one or as many courses as you have time for during the day.


Adult Leader Training - EDGE Model (explain, demonstrate, guide and enable) methods.


The Red Cross First Aid course will consist of both First Aid and CPR to conducted by a certified Red Cross instructor.


Lodging for out of district and council units will be made available at the South Dakota National Guards Camp Rapid facility.  Breakfast for Saturday will be provided by each unit on there own.  Register for lodging under Lodging from the merit badge list in the youth Merit Badge Midway site, make sure to pick from male or female, youth or adult.  The SDNG will not be providing bedding so each individual will be required to provide there own (i.e. sleeping bag, blanket & pillows).


Lunch will be provided to all registered participants.


UNIFORM: The full B.S.A. Field uniform is the official uniform for the day.


CODE OF CONDUCT: The Scout Oath, the Law, and the Outdoor Code shall be the code for the Merit Badge Midway.

Registration will only be accepted from 17 February to 1 March 2010.


All adults that are attending and not taking an adult University of Scouting course need to be registered so lunch can be provided.


Register for lodging under Lodging from the merit badge list in the youth Merit Badge Midway site, make sure to pick from male or female, youth or adult.


Registration/Sign In will begin at 7:30 Saturday in the Classroom Building of the SDSM&T campus.



Courses to be offered are subject to change based on counselor availability and class minimums.


The Black Hills Area Council reserves the right to limit or cancel any class.

Payment Instructions for the Unit
Payment is to be made in full during signing in on Saturday March 6th.  No payments will be excepted in advance in the Black Hills Area Council Office Service Center.

Payment will be accepted in the form of check preferably or cash.  No credit or debit cards will be accepted.


The Red Cross First Aid course is $25.00 (this is in addition to the $10.00 registration fee) and is payable directly to the Red Cross at the time of the course.  The Red Cross First Aid course will consist of both First Aid and CPR to conducted by a certified Red Cross instructor.
