If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

UNIFORM: The 'Class A' field uniform is the official uniform for the day. The merit badge sash may also be worn, if desired.

CODE OF CONDUCT: The Scout Oath, the Law, and the Outdoor Code shall be the code of the Merit Badge Day. A Scout whose conduct is not consistent with the code will be directed to leave the school and church grounds immediately. Adequate supervision must be provided by each participating unit. Discipline is the responsibility of the Scoutmaster or other assigned leaders in charge of the troop.

TRANSPORTATION: The troop leaders must coordinate arrival and departure time for transportation. Troops need to make certain that they have adequate transportation for their Scouts. If parents are picking up scouts, a leader must wait with the scout until his parent picks him up.

CLEAN UP: The Scout is clean. Troop leaders please coordinate with your troop to clean the premises and to keep the classrooms in the same condition as found. Future offerings of the Merit Badge Day will largely depend on how neat we leave the place. All garbage must be properly disposed into designated containers.

Counselor Information

Counselors: All Merit Badge Counselors need to check-in at the registration desk located in the school gym. Each Merit Badge (MB) Counselor at that time will be provided with an envelope that will include a roster with a list of names of the scouts that should be in attendance in their class, merit badge cards sufficient to cover the number of scouts in their class, and instructions on how to complete the merit badge cards. If the MB Counselor is teaching the class twice (morning and afternoon) then he/she will receive two envelopes in the morning, one for each session. Each MB Counselor should ensure that they have a minimum of two leaders in their classroom. In addition, the MB Counselor should seek assistance from one of the leaders in completing the Merit Badge Cards for the scouts in their class.

Merit Badge Cards: Troop 26 - Kevin Wickstrum Merit Badge Day cards included in the counselor envelope will have listed the tasks that were considered pre-requisites. If a scout completed any of those pre-requisites prior to attending the Merit Badge Day, then the counselor may give that scout credit for that task upon review of the pre-requisite. All pre-requisite verification is to be done at the end of the class period to ensure time for the work that needs to get done for the merit badge requirements scheduled for that day.

Merit Badge Book: Each counselor will be provided a MB book for his/her class prior to the Merit Badge Day if needed. It is the responsibility of the Merit Badge counselor to ensure that all tasks that can be covered during class time is covered as listed in the MB book.

Unit Sign-up Instructions

Each unit leader should sign up their troop members as a group before the registration deadline. Each scout attending has the opportunity of selecting two merit badges. On the registration site, you are to indicate your scouts first through fourth choice. We will honor, on a first come first serve basis, all scouts 1st and 2nd choices; but in the event the MB class is full, we will then provide scouts with their 3rd and 4th, respectively.

Check In: Check-in will be in the school cafeteria and the opening ceremony will be outside by the flag pole.

Counselors: All Merit Badge Counselors need to check-in at the registration desk located in the school cafeteria.

Troops: The Unit Leader is in charge of check-in for the troop. Please note that the registration area is located in the gym while the opening ceremony will be in the cafeteria. One person only should come to the registration table to check in. Once you receive your material, please check it for accuracy. If there are any discrepancies, or if you have any questions, please ask someone at the registration table for assistance.

Check-Out:  There will be no closing ceremony.  Troop leaders please be sure that you have left an address at registration where your scout merit badge cards could be mailed.

Scout Preparation: Many classes have pre-requisites which must be done if the scout wishes to complete the badge during class. Some classes also have age and/or rank requirements. Unless indicated otherwise, all other requirements for the Merit Badge should be covered in class. For All classes, scouts are required to read and bring the MB pamphlet/booklet. Also, scouts should be sure to have previously sought out their Scoutmaster's approval to take the merit badge. This is done by securing your Scoutmaster's signature on your Blue Card prior to the Merit Badge Day. If a Blue Card has been signed and is brought to the MB Day, counselors will sign those cards if requested. If not, then a Troop 26 - Kevin Wickstrum Merit Badge Day card will be provided.

Merit Badge Cards: Troop 26 - Kevin Wickstrum Merit Badge Day cards will be provided to each counselor during the opening ceremony. Each card will have listed those tasks that are considered pre-requisite during the closing ceremony to the troop leader for each scout in attendance. It will be the scout’s responsibility to ensure that the blue merit badge card is completed once they get back to their troop. Any pre-requisite activity completed prior to the event that needs to be verified by the counselor and signed-off, should be done at the end of the class session.

Merit Badge Books: It is the responsibility of each scout to bring with them the merit badge book for the badge they will be taking. In addition, they can either print out a merit badge worksheet to take notes, or bring paper and pencil.
