Biography Long-time Scouter, have held various adult leadership positions from Asst. Scoutmaster to Scoutmaster to Committee Chair as well as several District Committee-level positions.  Wood Badge-trained and have served on Wood Badge staff multiple times.  Active in mid-/high-power rocketry community.  Have my own 4-pad launch pad/controller for use with Pack and Troop model rocketry and Space Exploration Merit Badge activities.  Tinker with electronics and other geek projects, mainly for repairs and "just because."
Why I am qualified to teach
Electronics
Prerequisites for this Activity Three prerequisities:

1) If you have a *good* soldering iron with a small chisel tip, please bring it with you.  If you have a pair of safety glasses, bring those, too.

2) Before attending Electronics merit badge session, watch the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKbJxytERvg so that you have at least a basic understanding of how to solder.  Bonus points for practicing soldering and unsoldering at home before you attend, and for reviewing this this explanation of Voltage, Current, Resistance and Ohm’s Law:  https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/voltage-current-resistance-and-ohms-law.

3) Investigate/research at least one career opportunity in electronics, and be prepared to share with others what you have learned, including the training and/or education requirements.

Be Prepared to have fun!
