If you are having trouble registering scouts, carefully read the information on the help tab.
If you send an email that does not include the information we need to help you, it wastes time and will get promptly deleted.
Test drive the new site (in progress) at New Meritbadge.Info.Leave comments at our Facebook page.

Notice!!! Meritbadge.Info will switch to the new site with BSA validation Friday morning March 13th.

If you wish to start using this site today, click here to launch meritbadge.info/mbn2

Adults must enter their BSA Number, DOB, First and Last name as it appears on their BSA ID card. We will query BSA and get back an answer. At this point one of three things can happen:
1) Your registration is verified - you can continue using Meritbadge.info normally
2) You are not registered or your registration has lapsed - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login
3) You are registered but your YPT has expired - your prior rights are revoked and you get the read-only screens that you see before your login

You have had at least two months to get yourself registered and complete YPT training. If you feel your validation is not working, send us an email with the four data items listed and we will validate your entry.

We have no control over what is on file at BSA. If everything matches your BSA ID card, there should be no issues. If not, your validation will fail.

Why are we doing this?
1. To provide higher security and validation of all adult users.
2. To clean up the mess we've accumulated via 15 years of poor user data entry.

How will we do this?

What should you do?
Login to https://my.scouting.org/ and copy your BSA ID Number then update your profile on Meritbadge.info.  Let others in your unit know they should do the same.  We are giving you 2.5 months advanced notice to make this work.

Description

Register beginning January 29, 2020 for Troop 1776’s 25th Merit Badge Day on Saturday morning, February 29, 2020.

MERIT BADGES OFFERED are subject to change based on MB Counselor availability, class minimums, and class demand.  BSA Troop 1776 reserves the right to limit or cancel any class.  Check back often as class availability changes daily!

FEES are non-refundable but can be transferred to another scout in the same troop. Please note that by registering, you are reserving a seat in a class and are expected to pay and attend

CONTACT EMAIL required for each Scout:  Merit Badge Counselors require an e-mail address to contact the Scout about pre-requisites and items to bring to Merit Badge Day.

CONTACT CELL PHONE NUMBER required for each Scout:  An adult name and cell phone number is required as an emergency contact.  A parent, guardian, or Scout Leader can be the contact.

UNIFORM:  The Full B.S.A. Class A uniform is the official uniform for the day. The merit badge sash may also be worn.

CODE OF CONDUCT:  The Scout Oath, Law, and Outdoor Code describe expected behavior for Merit Badge Day.  The contact person (parent or troop representative) listed at check-in will be contacted to immediately remove poorly-behaving Scout(s) from the church property.

TRANSPORTATION:  Each Troop must arrange transportation for their Scouts.  Scouts must be arrive and depart on time.  At sign-in, Scouts must provide the name and cell phone number of the adult (troop representative or parent) who is responsible for Scout pickup.

CLEAN UP:  We are guests of the Catholic Church of St Ann.  Every Scout is expected to help return the classrooms, restrooms, and congregation areas to the original clean condition.  All garbage must be properly disposed into designated containers or carried out.

SECURITY:  Because the public has access to the church, Scouts are expected to be vigilant.  See something, say something!

WHAT TO BRING

  • Blue Card signed by the Scoutmaster

  • Merit Badge Pamphlet and Merit Badge Worksheet (available to print at meritbadge.org)

  • Clipboard or hard writing surface

  • Notebook or paper

  • Pen, pencil with eraser

  • Completed pre-requisite work

  • Jacket/gloves/hat suitable for the weather (ALL classes might go outside)

  • Small bills ($1 bills) for breakfast and concessions break, if desired.

SCOUT CELL PHONE POLICY:  The merit badge counselor in each room has control of his room, and may remove the phone of any Scout using his phone without specific permission.  SCOUTS WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THEIR CELL PHONES DURING THE MERIT BADGE DAY.  Your Scout is encouraged to leave his cell phone at home.  Scouts who have cell phones will be able to call (for pickup) to adults in the area after the Scouts are walked by their counselor to Nolan Hall.

ADULTS STAYING FOR THE EVENT:  Scout Leadership in uniform are invited to stay in Nolan Hall for the event, and are expected to help with “crowd control” during the event.

Parents and other adults not in uniform are asked to leave the church immediately after assembly but are asked to stay in the area (preferably within a few miles of the event) if they are listed as the emergency contact for a Scout.  There are numerous coffee houses and stores in the area.

NO CHILDREN (or siblings of Scouts) can stay on church property as there are no available facilities for children.

Counselor Information

The Blue Card will be updated with tasks completed in class and returned to Scout BEFORE they depart the classroom. It is the responsibility of the Scout to check that completed requirements are indicated on the Blue Card.  The Merit Badge Counselor will give credit for completed requirements ONLY. The Scout should complete all requirements not covered in class at his own pace.  Many Merit Badge Counselors will provide their personal contact information to allow the Scout to contact them about merit badge completion, or the Scout may complete the merit badge with his own troop leadership at his home troop.

Please note that many merit badges, including most eagle-required merit badges, cannot be completed in one morning.  Scouts who come prepared, with all pre-requisites completed and all time-intensive requirements completed, are most likely to complete the merit badge at Merit Badge Day.
